Draw away less than ideal for out of form side

ROTHERHAM’S 1-1 draw away to Northampton last weekend was another disappointing result for the fans.

Both clubs are out of form at the moment and were desperately in need of three points.

A draw was not the ideal result for either team.

The Millers were the favorites going into the game and it is not very often that you can say a team who had not won in their last nine games look the most likely to win.

However Northampton had lost their previous four matches in a row and were understandably low on confidence.

They should have been there for the taking by the Millers.

It was a missed opportunity for them to pick up some an invaluable three points and boost their confidence.

If they can’t beat a team that has lost four straight games then it is a worrying sign for the coming months.

Missing Michael Raynes who was stretchered of during the first half at Sixfields will not be what boss Andy Scott needed.

After the match against the Cobblers, Scott said: “It’s another away game where we have picked a point up and if we can go and get three points against Aldershot then the last four games will have been pretty decent.”

Only Accrington Stanley and Dagenham and Redbridge sit below Rotherham in a league table of the most recent six matches.

This shows how much the Millers are struggling to pick up wins at the moment.

This isn’t acceptable for a club that was eying promotion at the beginning of the season.

The team needs to get back on track and start winning, as it isn’t too late to have a push towards the top of the table once more.

If they don’t then the manager is going to come under serious pressure for the next few months as the team cannot go on not winning games when so much was expected of them. Promotion would be the best thing that could happen to Rotherham this year as if they could get out of the bottom tier of English football when they move into the new stadium at the beginning of next year they can continue to ride the wave of success.

In a must win clash the Millers face Aldershot at Don Valley stadium tomorrow.
