Millers star visits Wales Primary kids

YOUNGSTERS at Wales Primary school got some expert advice on their footballing skills, when a Rotherham United star dropped in.

Millers full-back Dale Tongue took time out to visit the school, where Rotherham United Community Sports Trust staff regularly deliver fitness and sport related sessions.

The after school club at Wales allows pupils to improve their skills and techniques, and Tonge took the opportunity to help them to practice their shooting skills with a session on volleying the ball, before working on some one-on-one’s with forwards versus the goalkeeper.
The defender said: “The pupils were great, you could see the effort that they put into the session and they all had smiles on their face which is what you want to see on a football pitch.”
His visit provided the pupils with the opportunity to quiz him about life as a footballer and to learn about the foods he has to eat and the training that he has to do to ensure that he is on top-form on a Saturday.
Participation Officer James Cole commented: “It’s always great to see the pupils reactions when players come down to visit, Dale was great he had a lot of time for the pupils and answered all their questions. He was also on hand to give out plenty of advice to the pupils during the training drills that they were doing.”
