Boston United season tickets have gone on sale - but chairman David Newton has told fans this season could bring a 'different' experience.

The under-construction Jakemans Community Stadium will be home to the Pilgrims for the first-time ever following their departure from York Street.

However, COVID-19 restrictions mean a limited number of tickets will go on sale initially, with further tickets made available at a later date.

United may also have to begin the campaign playing some games at Gainsborough Trinity's Northolme Stadium ahead of being given the green light to house matches.

"We hope to start the season on October 3, so are pleased to offer the first tranche of season tickets for sale," Mr Newton said.

"We are working under strict COVID guidelines and therefore our initial capacity assessment has to be based on individuals at a safe distance from each other.

"So we can maximise the number of spectators in the stadium, when each batch has been sold, we will recalculate the capacity depending on the number of 'household bubbles' that will be attending.

"Further batches will then be released until all season tickets are sold. Terraced numbers are based around stand capacity, so are set by the guidance."

Season ticket holders from last season will get until Friday (September 25) to exclusively secure their place for the new season, while fans renewing their season tickets will only be given the opportunity to purchase the same category of ticket that they purchased in 2019-2020 – unless they have exceeded an age bracket in the meantime.

However, they will be able to upgrade to a hospitality season ticket, which includes match entry and associated hospitality in the new lounge overlooking the pitch.

All season tickets purchased for this season will be non-refundable, even if the campaign is cut short or changed due to the pandemic.

Mr Newton added: "Watching football in 2020-2021 is going to be quite different unfortunately, but we sincerely hope we can return to normal for the following season, particularly with a brand-new stadium that we want to utilise to the maximum.

"In the short-term though, we must adhere to the Government's social distancing measures to help stem the spread of COVID-19, take care of each other and ensure the season is given every opportunity to reach a conclusion.

"The requirements placed on supporters are more extreme than previous years but we are living in unprecedented times and we need everybody to work with us to ensure a safe and enjoyable season."
