Nevertheless the girls didn’t let this get them down and some good football was played by both sides.

As the hosts failed to convert their chances, Winterton led 6-0 at the break.

Harriet Emsell worked hard to earn Horncastle several corners but the team were unable to make them count, while keeper Ellie Cullen made several excellent saves.

For the re-start Maisie Farrington replaced Freya Vine in defence, for her first appearance for the team.

Striker Harriet received an excellent ball from Jasmine Harris and, despite some desperate defending from Winterton, she managed to get the ball into the back of the net.

This really gave the girls a boost and generated a very even competitive period of play with both sides producing some lovely moves.

Jasmine worked extremely hard in midfield and made an excellent pass to Harriet.

Her efort was saved but Lilli Caraher was on hand to tap the loose ball in the back of the net.

Winterton did manage to score one more goal late on.
