Second-half double sees Wyberton sink Nettleham

Two second-half goals saw Wyberton secure a 2-0 win over Nettleham at The Causeway.

Grant Butler and Nicky Frost netted the crucial goals in Saturday's Lincs League contest.

"It certainly wasn’t a classic game of football, but results are what matter and we have to be happy with 2-0," said assistant manager Jamie Hanton.

"I still feel there’s a lot more to come from this team and we still need to find consistency, but we certainly have the quality to do that.

"We have a massive game away to Hykeham in the Supplementary Cup semi-final, where we all have to work hard and go there with the right mindset.

"If not it could be a very tough day for us, but we believe that the players can do that."

Both sides were sloppy and wasteful in the first half, although Will Britton forced a save from the visiting keeper.

Wyberton started a lot quicker after the break and took the lead courtesy of a Grant Butler header from a corner.

The defence looked solid after the break and doubled their advantage with Frost finishing a counter attack from a tight angle.
