Sleaford Sports Amateurs complete top seven Lincs League finish

Sleaford Sports Amateurs ended their debut season in the Lincolnshire Football League with a fine seventh-place finish.

Amateurs, run by Lee Mitchell, manager Martyn Pickworth and Jason Butler, ended their campaign on Saturday with a 1-0 defeat away to CGB Humbertherm.

James Cook got the game’s only goal as Amateurs ended their season with six league wins on the road, one less than the tally at their Eslaforde Park home.

Their final position came thanks to a superb run-in, winning eight and losing just three of their last 14 league matches.
