Smith and Maguire named on bench as Boston United prepare for Bucks clash

Dennis Greene has shown his faith in the starting XI which left Nuneaton Town with a 2-2 draw last week.

With Gregg Smith and Joe Maguire back from suspension and Kalern Thomas available again after injury, Boston’s matchday squad is looking a lot healthier than a week ago.

But Pilgrims boss Greene has raised a few eyebrows by naming five-goal striker Smith and centre back Maguire on the bench.

Boston may have let a 2-0 lead slip last week at Liberty Way, but Greene was positive about his side’s passing performance and told his team he wanted more of the same this week on the slick New Bucks Head surface.

Liam Agnew, Joe Burgess, Shane Clarke, Herve Pepe-Ngoma and Grant Roberts all remain sidelined with injury.

However, Clarke - who is yet to feature since rejoining the club, due to an Achilles injury - took to the pitch for a light warm-up.

Telford are 14th in the National League North, three places but just a point ahead of the Pilgrims.
