Solid point for Kiveton despite missing players

KIVETON travelled to Brodsworth with several key players missing but came home with a solid point.

Brodsworth fielded a much changed side with recent signings from Retford, and took the lead when a punt upfield over the Park defence allowed Shane Carver to run clear and score.

Jonny Parker kept the home side at bay until half-time and in the second half Park began to find their game and dominated early possession.

Park scored when McDonnell threaded a through ball to Robbie Gorman who shot against the keeper, only for the rebound to hit the forward and trickle over the line.

Kiveton then went ahead from a free-kick.

McDonnell was upended on the edge of the box, he got to his feet and smashed the free-kick home.

Park were now well on top going close several times and the home keeper made several good saves.

Brodsworth levelled against the run of play when a long ball found its way to Carver who ran on to crash the ball in from 20 yards.

Kiveton: Parker, Gravelle, Cregan, Harrison, Taylor, Barnes, Green, Lawton, Gorman, Longmore, McDonnell. Subs Brooke, Carless and Cocks.
