The 21-year-old goalkeeper has lived a nomadic existance, both in life and between the sticks.

But now he wants to find a place to settle.

“I was born in Germany, Dusseldorf, near Holland, and I’ve moved around all my life,” said Spiess.

“I’ve lived in Dubai and Spain and then I came to England.

“Now I feel settled in England, at the same time I want to settle down and play games.

“I want to stay in England now. I’m happy.”

The keeper is now determined to lay down roots at a club after previously turning out for Notts County, Torquay United, Alfreton Town, Corby Town, Lewes and Bristol Rovers and having a trial last year with Liverpool.

“I’ve had interest over past few years but the problem has always been being on the bench at Notts County,” added the keeper who began the campaign with Torquay.

“At my age I need to be playing regular football.”
