Wright said: “I am proud of them. For the first 20 minutes we were outstanding, but a little blip before half-time killed the game for us.

“The scoreline has flattered them a little bit.

“In the second half we came out and gave it a go.”

Lucy Farrow, who struck Trinity’s goal, scored twice when Trinity won their semi-final against Louth Old Boys 3-2. Daniella Snowden also netted.

Trinity’s Under-18 side have enjoyed a terrific season, winning three trophies — the Lincolnshire Intermediate North League, the Lincolnshire Under-18s County Cup and the Andrew Bandelow Memorial League Cup.

Three of the clubs young players — Ryan Douglas, Joe Pettit — and Joe Edwards have been awarded their county caps after representing Lincolnshire FA.
