Teale frustrated as Boston United’s poor results continue
Boston United defender Connor Teale admitted things are very tough at the club right now and they need to do better.
Saturday's 3-1 home FA Cup exit to county rivals Scunthorpe United left the Pilgrims with just one win in 11 games, not counting National League Cup fixtures, and Teale said: “We came into the game full of confidence after a much improved performance against Southend, but today just wasn't our day.
“We conceded three set piece type goals but could have put a few away ourselves.
“It's really tough at the moment. The lads are really hard on themselves.
“No one likes losing and no one likes the position we're in.
“But we are the only ones that can change it and that's what we've got to do.
“I think we have a much better group here this year which makes it even more frustrating that we're not quite getting the results we need.
“There are a lot of big personalities and characters in there and we have got to start showing that.”
He added:“Today was a derby and no one likes losing those type of games. This Saturday at Eastleigh is an opportunity to put that right.
“We have to get our heads down and work hard – there is not much else you can do.
“The fans since I have been here – and I am sure before I was here – have been amazing with the players.
“We understand their frustration and know we're the only ones that can put it right.”
