Tigers face Forest Green or Newport in FA Trophy

WORKSOP Town have been drawn against either Forest Green Rovers or Newport County in the second round of the FA Trophy.

Tigers, who beat Conference Premier side Tamworth 1-0 at home on Saturday in round one, got another home draw and will face the winners of tomorrow’s replay between Rovers and County.

The second round match will take place on 14th January.

It’s nearly 10 years since Forest Green put Tigers out of the FA Trophy with a 1-0 win, ironically after Worksop had beaten Tamworth in the previous round.

Forest Green Rovers are currently ninth in the Conference Premier, while Newport County are struggling in 19th position.

The two sides engaged in a goalless draw in Wales on Saturday.
