Tigers U19s lose by four

Josh Downie produced an excellent low save to deny Jack Mason as Tigers started the game well.

However, on 14 minutes Basford took the lead against the run of play, Joe Brothwell scoring directly from a free-kick.

A minute later Rhys Plackett put the visitors 2-0 up.

Tigers had a glorious opportunity to pull a goal back when Reece Twell was brought down in the penalty area by Josh Rae.

Unfortunately Downie made a fine save to deny Twell from the spot kick.

Plackett made the game safe for Basford in the 66th minute when his shot eluded Brandon Pritchard in the home goal.

And Brothwell completed the scoring six minutes later, playing an excellent one-two then firing home for the best goal of the game.

On Thursday (3rd October)the U19s travel to Sheffield FC for a 7.45pm kick-off.
