Trinity’s chairman hunt goes on

The search for a new Gainsborough Trinity chairman is to continue, after former Retford United boss Brett Marshall turned the job down.

Marshall was named in the press as a potential replacement for the now departed Peter Swann last week.

But Trinity secretary Pete Wallace told the Standard the club would continue to look for a new leader.

“Brett was approached, but he’s come back and turned it down, so the hunt goes on.”

“The club is just running as it was before, but we’re still actively looking for a chairman to come in.”

“Peter Swann has moved on, it’s lucky perhaps that it’s the end of the season, but there’s no problem with the running of the club.”
