Two away matches in three days a big test

New manager Lee Sinnott has targeted picking up away points as vital in the battle to stay in the National League North.

Trinity travel to FC United of Manchester on Saturday not having scored in their last seven matches away from the Northolme — and not having scored in their last three outings.

The last time they netted on their travels was in a 2-2 draw at Southport back in October when a 90th-minute equaliser earned a point.

And Trinity have just one win from their last 10 matches.

Two days after the trip to Manchester the Holy Blues go to Curzon Ashton.

Both clubs are just six points ahead of Trinity and a win in either match for the visitors could drag the North West clubs into the relegation battle.

Sinnott knows away points could be crucial as his first two home matches in charge are tough — visits by two teams in the play-off places inside four days, Brackley Town and Kidderminster Harriers.
