Two wins in fine week but Louth Town still slip into the drop zone
Louth Town enjoyed a fine week with league and cup wins only to find themselves slipping into the UCL Division One drop zone at the same time.
Elliot Broughton netted the winner on Saturday's 1-0 win over Selston which backed up the midweek 3-0 away success at Crowle Colts in the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy.

“We've had a really good week with two clean sheets and two victories so I am absolutely delighted,” said manager Carl Martin.
“It was disappointing to come in on Saturday and find that, despite three points, we'd dropped one place into the drop zone on goal difference – but that's how tight it is and we know there is a lot of hard work ahead to drag ourselves away from it and climb the table.
“But we seem to be heading in the right direction.
“In midweek, Crowle is a tough place to go on a difficult pitch.
“But I thought we full deserved the win.
“We made four or five changes to give fringe players a chance and they grabbed it with both hands.
“We defended well and were ruthless in front of goal and it was probably the complete away performance.
“On Saturday conditions were windy and I thought we probably deserved to be ahead at half-time with the set pieces and situations we had.
“Then second half, playing against the wind, we scored a really good goal and managed to see it out.”
At Crowle, captain Alex Aldrich marked his 300th appearance for the club.
Harvey Lidgard broke the deadlock on 51 minutes before setting up Will Pennell for the second 10 minutes later.
An own goal on 67 minutes then sealed Crowle's fate.
Then on Saturday the winner against visiting Selston came two minutes after the break as Cal Martindale put in a great cross to the back post where Broughton made contact with a volley that looped the ball into the far corner.
This Saturday it's a League Cup tie for Louth as they head to Clifton All Whites.
