The Wongers face two-semi-finals on consecutive Saturdays, beginning with the weekend’s tie at Gainsborough Trinity Reserves in the Supplementary Cup.

This will be followed by a home clash with Immingham Town in the Challenge Cup seven days later.

“We’ll go there ready for it. I know the lads are up for it,” said Horncastle boss Stones head of the Trinity match.

“We’ll have a good travelling support, and we’re looking forward to playing at a good, old fashioned ground.

“We have a full squad available at the moment. It’s a game we look forward to.

“Gainsborough are a good side but we believe that if we play well it’s a game we can win.”

Trinity won the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League curtain-raiser 3-1 at The Wong, but the two sides have not met since that day in August.

Horncastle did, however, win their previous visit to the Northolme, a 3-2 league success last season.

“We’ve done well at the Northolme before,” Stones added. “We won there late on last year, it would be nice to do it again.”

Town have a good pedigree in cup competitions, and manager Stones hopes that will be the case once more this week.

“We’ve been in four cup finals in the last three seasons,” he added. “We’ve got two semi finals coming up and we want to win them both as getting into both cup finals gives you more chance of winning one of them.

“We love doing well in the cups and it’s a great feeling to win.

“We’re not in a position to win the league so the cups give us something to play for.

“Getting to cup finals gives you something to keep the lads concentrati ng and interested up until the end of the season.”

Kick off will be at 3pm.
