Dominic Knowles says Boston United have nothing to fear as they prepare to face three promotion rivals in the space of eight days.

Indeed, the Pilgrims striker refuses to rule out a surprise title charge.

First up for United is the visit of York City on Saturday, followed by Tuesday’s arrival of Darlington.

Brackley Town will be the third of the tricky trio facing United on Saturday, February 15.

But Knowles has every confidence the Pilgrims will be able to match their rivals.

“Our form recently has set us up nicely for those games,” said Knowles.

“We’ve beaten Brackley. We don't think these are teams who are better than us, they’re not.

“They’re good teams, but we’re a top-five side.”

Knowles found the net as United beat Brackley for the first time ever at home last month and also scored in Boston’s 2-1 reverse at Darlington in October.

The Minstermen also secured a 2-1 home win at Boston’s expense earlier this campaign, but Knowles is adamant the Pilgrims are now a different beast.

“We’re building together as a squad and understanding what everyone does,” he said.

“We knew each other before the start of the season, but it’s different until you start playing together.

“We’re showing that now.”

Confident Knowles also suggested that, if United can hit top gear for the remainder of the campaign, they may be able to catch table topping King’s Lynn if the division’s top side begin slipping up.

“King’s Lynn are miles ahead, but you never know,” he said.

“If we keep winning and putting pressure on teams above us you never know.

“Lynn have been superb all year and could well get automatic promotion, but we’ll keep looking above and trying to catch them.

“But our first aim to keep winning games and putting points between us and the teams below.”
