The Lilywhites will turn their attention to FA Vase action on Saturday in a season where, due to being shorter than usual, action will come thick and fast.

But he is adamant he has the right players to cope with the rigours of regular action, coupled with the right mentalities to understand the importance of rotation.

“It’s having the right characters to do that, who know what its all about,” he said.

“You don’t win anythuing with 11 men and its alright everybody being happy when they’re starting, but sometimes you have to look at it from a different point of view.

“Danny Brooks didn’t kick a ball in the first game of the season, then he started and played really well against Hallam. That’s what it’s going to be like.

“We don’t need any lads with a selfish mindset who are looking after themselves. You want lads to be disappointed if they’re on the bench, but if we’re going to be succesful we have to do that.

“I don’t see anyone in our squad who’s a weak link. We’ll be playing certain players for certain games.”
