Boston United left the Shay buoyed by a goalless draw against the promotion hopefuls following a stoic performance, which reduced the National League North’s form team to few chances.

“It was a very good performance, very professional,” Murray said.

“I felt the players and the staff tactically nailed it.

“At times we had to control the game without the ball.

“When I first came in we did that really well, and we got back to that today.

“On another day we get the rub of the green and nick a winner, but a very good performance at a very tough place to come.”

Ross Durrant was called upon to deny the hosts’ Matt Brown with an instinctive stop and deny Matty Kosylo and David Lynch from free kicks, while Boston’s best chance saw Alex Simmons’ strikes saved by Sam Johnson and deflected over.

“If you’d have said to anyone before the game we’d have took a point,” Murray added.

“They’re going for promotion, we’re at the other end.

“If you look at it as two points dropped then you’re a very miserable person.

“We’ll look at that as a point gained.”
