Craig Elliott is hoping his walking wounded will recover for Boston United's New Year's Day clash with King's Lynn.

Alex Whittle played through the pain barrier during Saturday's 2-1 win over Kettering Town, while the Pilgrims boss is also hoping Alex Penny and Jordan Thewlis may be back from injury.

"Alex Whittle played on with a groin strain in the second half," Elliott said.

"I forced him to to be honest.

"He was struggling a bit but these are the things you have to do. Players have to play with aches and pains.

"I'm hoping Jordan and Alex Penny stand a chance for the game, but we'll see."

Skipper Luke Shiels will be eligible to play as the red card he received at The Walks will see him suspended at Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday.

Kick off will be at 3pm.
