The thrilling finale was set up perfectly by Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Staveley Miners Welfare at Cannon Park.

They took the lead on 23 minutes when top goalscorer Warren Hatfield fired home.

Karl Slack then doubled the lead when he took Corey Nightingale’s through ball and beat the offside trap to score for 2-0.

The third goal came on 35 minutes, Hatfield with his brace, turning to fire past the keeper from the edge of the box..

Five minutes after the break Staveley’s Kyle Forbes-Chambers’ rash challenge saw him red carded.

The misery continued for the visitors when Jason Fisher saved Ryan Damm’s spot-kick to protect his clean sheet.
