Horncastle Town will reignite their rivalry with Wyberton this evening as the two sides lgo toe-to-toe in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League.

And that means Ross piting his wits against Colts joint-boss Jon Macleod, who he has known for years.

“It’ll be a good one, I know Jon Macleod very well,” Ross told The News.

“I used to coach him way back in the day when he was 15.

“He’s a good lad and under lights it’ll make it a good occasion.”

While there’s friendship off the pitch, contests between the Wongers and Wyberton can often turn into battles on the turf.

And Ross expects no different from another side looking to turn an up-and-down start to the campaign into a positive push up the table.

“Overall, I think they’ve had a similar start to us,” Ross added.

“It’ll be tight, it’ll be agood, hard contest.

“There’ll only be one goal in that game, I’m certain.

“But I’m enjoying the buzz of this, it’s exciting.”

Kick off at the Causeway will be at 7.45pm.

The action comes thick and fast for Town this week, with attention turning to the Lincolnshire Junior Cup on Saturday, and the arrival of Crosby Colts.

The trophy has evaded the Wongers in recent years and Ross would love to see his side be crowned Lincolnshire champions once again.

“We want to do well, the county cup is our FA Cup,” he said.

“The county cup, it’s probably the biggest thing we can play for.

“I’d like to say we’ve got a good home draw against a side from a league below.

“I won it playing for Horncastle back in the day, and we will take this more seriously than any other cup competition because to be crowned the best team in the county at your level is something we’re all aiming for.”

Action will get underway at 1.30pm.

Horncastle drew 3-3 at home to Keelby United on Saturday.

Luke Blondel, Sam Waywell and Pat Kacirek netted for the hosts while Gary Nimmo, Carl Price and Coby Kavanagh found the net for Keelby.

The result saw the Wongers end Saturday 12th in the table.
