Wongers get off to a flying start
Horncastle Town got the new season off to a flyer on Friday night as they saw off Sleaford Town Development 4-0 at The Wong.
It was a perfect start following a promising pre-season and also maintained momentum gained at the end of the last campaign.

And joint-boss Will Rawdon says that while it was a superb way to get things going, there is still a long way to go.
He said: “I’m really pleased with both the performance and the result. It’s been 11 years since Horncastle started a season with three points, however this is just the first step in what will be a tough campaign.
"Sleaford deserve credit as they’re a young, energetic side who never gave up. We had to be disciplined and professional to make sure we secured the three points.
"Our first goal was an excellent team move, and it was pleasing to see debutants like Aiden Willerton and Alfie Vickers making such a positive impact. Another debutant, Robbie Cope, also showed his attributes when he came on and was unlucky to hit the woodwork.
"The five changes we made midway through the second-half also played an important role in maintaining our performance levels.
"Overall, I thought we struck a really good balance. We caused problems going forward while staying organised at the back.”
Horncastle now prepare for a trip to Spilsby Town on Saturday, a side who were promoted from Lincs League Division One last season as champions and who lost their opening game 2-0 at Immingham Town last weekend.
Rawdon added: "The support on Friday night was brilliant, and now our attention turns quickly to next week’s trip to last year’s Division One champions.
"That will be a completely different challenge, and we’ll need to prepare right, starting at training in midweek.”
