Wongers unlucky to lose at Lincoln
John Rawdon felt his Horncastle side were unlucky not to take something from their trip to Lincoln United Development as the high-flyers ran out 1-0 winners.
Horncastle limited Lincoln to few opportunities but the one they took was enough to secure all three points as the Wongers couldn’t quite find a leveller.

And Rawdon took heart from the display despite the result not going his side’s way.
He said: "It was a really disappointing day as I was looking for us to go there and show a reaction to our poor performance at home against them and look to get some points on the board.
"The performance itself was absolutely fine. We went there with a game plan as Lincoln try and play and football on a 3G surface but they simply couldn’t play their football against us – we cut them out at source and as they try to play out from the back they were rarely able to play through us or over the top.
"They had one half chance in the first-half which we dealt with but although we also had two or three half chances in the first-half, we didn’t ask enough of them to deserve to be ahead.
"I felt we were comfortable and slightly more in control of the at the break, then were the aggressors early in the second in terms of being front foot and forcing corners and half chances, but then we made mistakes from our own corner and subsequently our throw in inside our own half that led to Lincoln taking the lead.
"I’m pretty sure Lincoln then didn’t have another shot in the half or even forced a corner, and we built up a bit of momentum as we tried to get back in the game, and we asked more questions of them than they did of us, and we had three or four really good chances late on but their keeper made some good saves and ultimately we fell short.
"It’s really disheartening because again we’ve done everything we can and asked the questions but lost the game due to a completely unforced error, then not taken chances.”
Horncastle were due to host Whaplode Drove Rovers in the County Cup on Saturday, but due to the outcome of the Wongers’ game in the last round, which the referee abandoned after sending two Grantham Town Reserves players off with Horncastle leading 2-0 not yet being resolved, the game has been postponed.
It means Horncastle are not back in action until January 10.
