“We are in the county cup final, semi-final of the Supplementary Cup and eighth in the league,” said Greswell, reflecting on his side’s promising campaign so far.

“The cup we love is the county cup. We always look to do well in that and take a lot of pride in it.

“To get in the final is just brilliant. The lads deserve all the credit as our best performances seem to come in the county cup.”

Although Greswell has already announced he will leave his role at the end of the season, he believes he is overseeing improvements at The Causeway.

“One thing we set out to do is improve from the season before,” he added.

“We have a great chance of improving from last season and finally get some silverware.

“I have to say as a club, Wyberton are in a good place. We are constantly having lads from the development side and reserve team making the step up and playing for the first team.

“Even at under 16 level, we are seeing these young lads making the step up into men’s football and playing for the development side which is great to see.

“James Payling and Joe Orrell are doing great jobs and making my life easier by allowing their players to step up and play as high as possible.”

The Colts’ scheduled Lincs League encounter at home to Louth Town this weekend was postponed.

Wyberton are set to return to action this Saturday, away at Brigg Town Reserves (KO 3pm), followed by Tuesday’s visit to Moorlands (KO 7.45pm).

“League-wise, we started well,” Greswell added.

“We were unbeaten in the league until just before Christmas, but lost our way a bit and lost three league games in a row.

“We find ourselves at the wrong end of the table. We have games in hand which, if we win, will push us back at the right end of the table.

“I mentioned to the lads last week about how it’s important we finish as high as we can in the league.

“We have ex-Boston Town, Boston United, Skegness Town and Pinchbeck players in our squad and we shouldn’t be looking at the wrong end of the table.”
