Craig Elliott has told Boston United fans to expect much more from Fraser Preston.

The 21-year-old attacker caught the eye in today's 2-0 win over Alfreton Town with a lively performance.

And were it not for two good saves from George Willis, the former Sheffield Wednesday winger would surely have scored his second goal of the season.

"He's a good player, you can see those moments of class when he glides across the grass," Elliott said.

"His turns are quick and he's just got to find that goal. He's going to be a good player for us Fraser, you can see those bits of quality."

The two self isolation periods Boston have faced this campaign haven't aided Preston's progression this campaign, both arriving immediately after his first two starts of the season.

But with Jordan Thewlis suspended, Preston has played the full 90 minutes of the past three games, and Elliott believes that is helping him find his feet in the National League North.

"I said to him two or three games ago he'd start the next few matches," Elliott added.

"I'm a big fan of his and I see what he can do in training. You can tell he's going to do well in games, he's still very young and learning this level as well.

"He's had a few stop starts but now you're seeing consistency. This is what he's got to do, adapt to this league.

"I'm watching him closely and you can see the bits of class.

"I'm looking forward to seeing his progression. He may be in and out the team or in different positions, but you'll see his progression."
