Young Tigers up to second

Worksop Town U19’s moved up to second place in the league as they completed the double over Handsworth FC U19’s with a 2-0 win.

Handsworth started the better of the two sides but gradually Tigers started to take control, eventually taking the lead on 35 minutes when John Lufudu swept home Jordan Camm’s cross.

As in the first half Handsorth started the second brightly, however, the defence well marshalled by Connon Flannery ensured the Tigers keeper, Tom Jackson, had very little to do

Tigers made the game safe four minutes from time, Tom Elliott heading home Jack Billau’s cross.

A minute later Tigers had an excellent opportunity to make it 3-0 when they were awarded a penalty after Elliott was bundled over.

However, Josh Jones produced an excellent save from Billau’s spot kick.

On Thursday 13th November Worksop Town Under 19s are at home in their next fixture to Hallam Under 19s, for a 7.45pm kick-off.
