Four tries for Taylor in rout of Rasen

THIS was a great day for local man and loose head prop forward James Taylor who scored four tries.

The All Blacks travelled to Rasen and came away with a bonus point win thanks largely to their forward power.

Gainsborough were without the club skipper and were missing Bond and Bates from the backs, forcing a reshuffle with Chadwick moving to the centre, Turner Guest moving to the front row and Bell and Ellis coming it to the pack.

It was Bell who opened the scoring followed by Taylor, forcing their way through for tries.

After 15 minutes Mark Waterland suffered a bad injury which held up the game, and forced the players to be moved to another pitch, but it made the All Blacks more determined to win for their team mate.

Gainsborough scored eight tries in total with prop forward Taylor getting four, Bell had two and both Turner Guest and Chadwick kept up their good scoring record with one each.

Tom Parkinson converted six and managed his backs well, but the Man of the Match was Taylor, who worked tirelessly and deserved his quartet of scores.

All the team would like to wish Mark Waterland a speedy recovery from his injury.

GAINSBOROUGH Maori entertained a strong veteran based team from Mosborough.

Mossborough are a good sporting side but more than a match for the young inexperienced Maori.

The home side started well with some good thrusting runs from Tritran and Tony Brown but this was short lived and Mossborough went on to dominate the whole match.

The side are still learning and developing and will take this experience into the new year.

Mossborough won the game 60-0.

There is only one home game this weekend, the Maori are to host Market Rasen IV before the Christmas and New Year break, both teams are back in action on 6th January.
