Gainsborough: Double success for Viking Velo in time trial event
The Gainsborough Viking Velo team of Andy Lewin (22.27), Julian Hesp (22.41) and Andrew Codd (23.22) clocked a combined winning time of 68.30.
Second place went to the Lincoln Wheelers team of Sean Hunt (22.17), Richard Sheldrake (23.13) and John Noone (23.41) in 69.11, with the Retford Wheelers trio of Dominic Smith (21.38), Alan Hazard (23.09) andPaul Austin (24.50) third in 69.37.

Hide AdThe same three teams also filled the same three positions in the handicap awards.
The start was on Laughton Lane and riders proceeded through Laughton Forest towards East Ferry.
At East Ferry the riverside road was followed to East Stockwith, finishing on Carr Lane at Burnt Bridge.
Organisers wish to thank the time keepers, officials and marshals at the event and The Ferry House for being the event headquarters.

The Gainsborough Aegir leisure ride to Brigg was completed by Trevor Halstead, David Chaffey, George Carnall, Pete Comerford, Paul Bacon, Pete Hanks and Daniel Nicholson and followed a route through Blyton, Grayingham, Blyborough, Snitterby, Brandy Wharf, South Kelsey, North Kelsey, Howsham, Bigby and Melton Ross.
The ride then divided with some of the riders opting to return back home as part of the short ride route.

Hide AdThe remaining riders opted for a longer route heading through Elsham, Brigg, Scawby Brook and Scawby befiore reaching Scunthorpe .
They then paused at Quibell Park cycle track to view the track racing, before returning home through Burringham, East Butterwick, Susworth, Laughton Woods, and Morton before finally returning to Gainsborough.
This week’s events: Sunday 20th July: Morning ride. Meet Roseway, Gainsborough at 9.50am. Suitable for families and beginners.
Wednesday, 23rd July: Bob Fotheringham Trophy (18-mile ride). Meet at 6.45pm on Thonock Hill at highest point beyond Gainsborough Golf Club. First rider off at 7pm

Hide AdThursday, 24th July: Gainsborough Aegir cycling treasure hunt. Meet at The Eight Jolly Brewers, Gainsborough at 6.30pm
The event is open to all and is free to enter with a Gainsborough Cycles voucher to the winning member of public.
