Clowne Road Runners have had another busy week, with runners taking part in two major Derbyshire runs.

The Wilne 10km race saw Road Runners joining over 850 other athletes, competing in the Derbyshire 10km Championships and Midlands Masters.

The first Clowne Road Runner home was Gareth Lowe who produced a personal best performance to record a time of 32.13.

This was enough to see him finish in 13th position.

In the team event Clowne finished fifth.

Results: 13th Gareth Lowe 32.13, 166 David Leese 41.05, 169 Robert Wain 41.22, 192 Steve Hattersley 42.08, 323 Melanine Adams 46.51, 335 Paul Summerly 47.11, 455 John Profitt 50.54.

Sunday saw the Chesterfield Community 5k Run, starting and finishing at Chesterfield Football Club.

The results of the Clowne Road Runners were as follows:

14th Wayne West 19:02, 22nd Paul Sadler 19:53, 37th Neil Inns 21:43, 50th Katy Taylor 23:45, 58th Gillian Carter 24:30, 77th Paula MacPherson 27:08, 86th Angela Kirkham 28:41.

The Lincolnshire Wolds provided the setting for the “Wolds Tough 10”and Clowne’s lone runner Dennis Learad finished in 73 minutes.

Simon Sleney ran the Long Tour of Bradwell, a 33-mile fell rac, finishing 27th in a time of 6hrs 17mins.

Not for the feint hearted, Steve Battle completed the British Ultrafest 48 hour race.

This is held at Radley College, Abingdon.

The course is a standard 400m all-weather circuit and runners compete running around the track over a 48 hour period.

Steve managed 138.6 miles and finished sixth in the race.
