In the 16 and under boys’ event Matthew Gedney cruised through his matches, winning this age group beating Staffordshire’s Gautham Narayanan in the final.

Tom Cozens, in the other half of the draw, reached the semi-final stage.

Lincolnshire’s Lucy Evans was the winner of the girls’ 12 and under and 14 and under bands.

She saw off challenges from Boston’s Alice Gamman, Christie Halton, Paris Wright and Angela Halton, who she played in the final of the 14s in a very competitive 5-3,4-5, 11-9 match.

Angela Halton reached the semis of the Open Ladies, in which Boston’s Emma Mastin also competed, but the overall winner was Yorkshire’s Cordelia Cavill.

David Cheer competed in the Open Mens’ event but was unfortunate to come across Lincolnshire’s James Parkin, who won this part of the tournament.

The Mini Tennis Red section was well supported by Boston Tennis Club members.

Benjamin Rudkin, Noah Freeman, Yasmin Everitt, Billy Smith, Jessica Dolata and Matilda Clark all competed strongly and gained some valuable experience.

Two players from Boston took part in the 10 and under mixed section.

Neither Hannah Willis or Robbie Townsend could claim overall victory, but Robbie finished in third place.
