Gillespie competes for university team

First up was the high jump and a leap of 1.60m won the event for Kieran.

It was his best performance in high jump for a few months.

He was also selected for the shot putt, but as it was classified as a senior event he had to throw the heavier 7.26kg shot, as opposed to the 6kg he normally throws as an under 20 athlete.

However, this did not seem to bother Kieran as he sent the shot out to 8.51m to claim second place in that event, gaining good points for his university on their way to a convincing win over their city rivals.
