GOLF: South Kyme ladies round off year of competition

Last year's final couple of months saw a lot of South Kyme Golf Club ladies' section matches and competitions cancelled because of the bad weather conditions.

And players were thankful to the green staff for all their hard work in keeping the course open as often as they were able.

The November Tuesday EWGA Medal was won by ladies’ captain Sue Annibal with a net score of 71. Anne Clayton was secton with 72 and vice-captain Sue Duncan finished third.

The monthly Stableford was won by Anne Clayton with 31 points. Runner-up was Elaine Sturton with 27 and Sue Duncan was third.

The EWGA December Sunday Medal was won by Joan Cowie with a magnificent net 60, taking her handicap from 35 to 29. In second place was Jane Coleman with 71 and Sue Roberts finished third a further point behind.

The December Stableford was won by Sue Roberts with 38 points. Anne Clayton came in second and in third place was Heather Dopierala.

Played with the senior section, the Winter Texas Scramble was won by the team of Sue Duncan, Shirley Westlake and Pete Zammit. The nine-hole Christmas Bring and Win was won by Sue Roberts, and the nine-hole Christmas Secret Santa was won by Heather Dopierala.

They ladies’ section are now looking forward to an exciting year of competitions and matches including The Mail on Sunday, The Daily Mail Foursomes, our their year of league matches and, of course, the ladies friendlies and mixed matches against a number of other clubs.
