“Our membership has soared to the highest level in our history.

“In particular we’ve seen a surge in interest from youngsters and also Rasen people who are now working from home.

“We’ve found our new fixed tee time system has made golf quicker and so it’s easier to fit in with people’s busy schedules.”

And it’s not just golfers that can enjoy the friendly rustic atmosphere.

The clubhouse reopened on Saturday, so members and non-members are now able to sit and enjoy a drink and a bite to eat on the extended outdoor decking overlooking the 18th hole.

“We are lucky that we have such a big outdoor seating area,“ added Pete.

“It’s ideal for anyone who wants to relax in the fresh air, safely.

“And for those that fancy something a bit more active we have our pitch and putt short course, driving range and a new boule court.”

Operations manager Mark Davis added: “In the past golf clubs have had a reputation for being a bit old fashioned and exclusive.

“Times have changed. We see our club as an important community facility for all to enjoy. Our aim is to offer a warm welcome to everyone.“

From the record numbers already attracted to the club, it seems that this modern inclusive approach is beginning to pay off.
