The European Tour may be on hold, but Dave Coupland is determined to catch up on lost time.

After securing his card at Q School in November and competing at his first event in December, he has had little time away from the course to work on other aspects.

Six tour events have been postponed and the next scheduled event is currently the Estrella Dam Andalucian Masters, set to begin on April 30.

“You can never prepare for a situation like this but I’m trying to make the most of it,” he said.

“I didn’t really have an off season so I’m concentrating on strength and conditioning and trying to get myself into the best physical condition I can.

“I’ve been working with my team. I want to work hard to make sure that when the season starts again, if it does start again, then I can really nail it.”

The Boston golfer, who is attached to Woodhall Spa GC, has picked up 17,00 Euros in prize money so far this year.

When he will have the chance to earn again may be in question but Coupland remains pragmatic.

“I haven’t got the chance to win any money at the moment, but I’m not spending anything on getting to events either, so it sort of works both ways,” he added.
