Dave Coupland returns to European Tour action

Dave Coupland returned to European Tour action in the Betfred British Masters hosted by Lee Westwood.

Competing at Newcastle's Close House GC, the Bostonian, who is attached to Woodhall Spa, finished tied for 53rd.

Coupland recorded rounds of 70, 71, 70 and 72 on the par-71 course between Wednesday and Saturday to claim 3,835 Euros in winnings.

"Fantastic week at the British Masters at Close House, played solid all week," he wrote on Twitter.

Coupland will now return to action at the Hero Opoen, held at Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel & Country Club, Birmingham, from tomorrow (Thursday).

Boston GC's Jordan Wrisdale finished tied for 50th at the Euram Bank Open at GC Adamstal, Austria.

Competing between July 15 and 18 he carded a fantastic round of 64 on the par-70 course on day one, following that with rounds of 70, 73 and 74 to claim 1,725 Euros.

The event was won by France's Joel Stalter on -14.

The Challenge Tour will return to action at the Northern Ireland Open on September 3.
