Westwood wins again in Sun City

LEE Westwood made it back-to-back Nedbank Golf Challenge titles in Sun City on Sunday.

The Worksop man shot a one-over-par round of 73 to finish two shots clear of Robert Karlsson and defend the title he won in South Africa last year.

He was able to play a safe game on the final day, thanks to a scintillating round of 62, a course record, in the third round.

He said: “To win back-to-back titles is a bit special.”

The world number three golfer added: “I’ve been coming here a long time - this is the ninth time - and it’s special every time I come.”

“Yesterday (Saturday) was probably the best round I’ve ever played. It set me up to play conservatively today. It’s very satisfying.”

The win handed Westwood a cheque for $1.25m.
