Young star repeats Louth title triumph

The best gross round prizes went to Jerry Knoyle with an am 75 and Max Robinson with a pm 76. The best nett rounds were Richard Burkitt (12) with an am 69 and Lewis Hackett (4) with a pm 76.

The ladies endured interruptions due to thunderstorms and lightning and saw their championship reduced to one round as the greens flooded during the afternoon making the second round impossible to complete.

After all that, Andrea Smaggasgale shot an excellent round of 82 to be crowned the raining ladies champion of Kenwick Park and win the Founders Salver. Ann Walker was runner-up with an 86. Suw Guilliatt with her best ever round of 87–17=70 came third and also won the Walmer Wine Trophy for the best net with Andrea runner-up with her net 73. Deborah Thomas (26) had a great back nine to give her third place on a countback from several players with a nett 76.
