Gymnasts impress

This highly competitive tumble event was contested with many other clubs from right around the East Midlands Region, with winners and runners up from each age bracket going on to national semi finals in either Telford or Birmingham later in the year.

All qualifying gymnasts needed to attain the qualifying score in order to progress.

In the National 2 nine-10 group Jessica Cooper came second with a score of 75.90 while, in the 11-12 age group of the same level, Keeley Bonner came a fantastic eighth place in her first tumble competition.

In the National 4 11-12 age group, Chloe Almond scooped a gold medal with three beautiful tumbles.

Also at National 4 level, Jessica Rocci (13+ age group) came a brilliant eighth position in a large field of gymnasts.

Libby Braime achieved a fantastic silver medal in the National 5 10-12 age group, scoring an impressive 73.90.

Nina Rocci also competed at National 5 level age 13-14, scoring an incredible 75.50 and claiming first place.

National level 5 also saw two further TJ’s girls compete in the 15+ competition.

Caitlin McNulty and Andrea Barnes finished a superb third and fourth respectively, finishing the competition on a real high for head coach Tony Hockley.

The results meant that Chloe Almond, Libby Braime and Nina Rocci have qualified to compete at the National semi-finals.
