The motorcycle ace qualified in ninth, but just missed out on the points in race one as he struggled with rear grip on the bike.

He brought the Kawasaki across the line in 16th place.

Harris started from row five on the grid for race two, and suffered the same problem as the previous race, the rear grip issue forcing him to retire early on.

The PR Racing rider was frustrated not to pick up points, at one of his favourite circuits.

He said: “I am disappointed not to have finished in the top 10, as we had a good qualifying session on a track I love.”

“We made some changes after qualifying, which we thought would improve the bike’s performance out of the corners, but a slight modification in one place can affect the bike elsewhere, which we had this weekend.”

He’s optimistic, however, that he and the team are nearing a set-up that will bring some points.

“The bike is starting to handle well, but we are trying slight modifications to achieve the performance, and that regular top 10 finish we need,” he said.

“We are very close to having a great setup, however, sometimes these changes work, sometimes they bite back, which happened today.”

“I would like to thank the guys in the garage for all the hard work and effort over the weekend.”

Harris is 16th in the BSB Championship standings after three rounds, with 18 points.

This weekend he is in action at the Vauxhall International 2013 North West 200, Ireland’s largest outdoor sporting event,
