Hockey ladies hope to complete season in style

Worksop Ladies 3rd team have spent the first half of the season just off the bottom of the league.

But they travelled away to South Notts 2nds last Saturday with hopes that maybe they could win a few more games.

They surprised everyone with their confidence and ability and from the very start looked like they could beat a team much higher in the league.

Worksop scored first having started well by playing a very relaxed, accurate game.

The young forwards showed immense composure on the ball when attacking and they were well supported by the midfield and defence.

Unfortunately, South Notts found a couple of holes in Worksop’s defence and scored twice before half time only for Worksop to come back and score again to go into half time in the lead.

The second half saw South Notts try and get back into the game but Worksop continued to dominate and suddenly they put two goals away to seal the game 5-2.

Goals were scored by Lucy Wheatley, Becky Prudence and a hatrick from Rosie Muxlow.

Their next match is on Saturday 9th February at 9.30am at Worksop College against Southwell.
