Horse-racing ‘Tip Of The Day’

START the new week with a fun flutter on the horses. Here is the latest selection from the stable of Scoop Racing (Richard Silverwood):

Monday October 29

FICKLE FORTUNE

Galway 4.35 WIN

Respected Irish trainer Noel Meade couldn’t contain his excitement when this four-year-old filly made a successful winning debut in a Bumper at Down Royal last February. “She’s very special, has serious speed and goes on any ground,” said Meade after she had glided to victory with the handbrake still on, oozing class. The daughter of Heron Island can be forgiven a subsequently disappointing run in a hot Grade One contest at Punchestown two months later because the bottomless ground was horrible. But she is strongly fancied to regain the winning thread today before launching a career over hurdles, for which she is very much bred (her dam is a half-sister to Cheltenham Festival winner Spirit Leader). It is reassuring that the brilliant Nina Carberry again takes the ride because the filly is likely to be keen early on in the race.
