Horse-racing ‘Tip Of The Day’ — Wednesday November 28

It was a relief to return to winning ways yesterday. But the heavy rain has played havoc with today’s jumps cards.

Wednesday November 28

COMMUNICATOR

Kempton 6.00 WIN

With the scheduled jumps cards in the UK abandoned because of waterlooged tracks, we are forced to switch to all-weather flat racing for today’s tentative selection. Andrew Balding’s four-year-old son of Derby winner Motivator took a long time to get over a switch from the Newmarket yard of Michael Bell and a gelding operation. But he finished the turf season on a high, bolting up by nine lengths at Chester and then finishing an unlucky second in the prestigious November Handicap at Doncaster. He returns to Listed company today and, in a cracking race for the time of year, he faces his Town Moor conqueror again, Art Scholar. But a bigger danger might come from Roxy Flyer, who is well in at the weights and a proven performer on Kempton’s Polytrack surface.

TUESDAY: SIRE DE GRUGY WON

MONDAY: THE DRUIDS NEPHEW 3RD
