Indoor bowlers are into national finals

The men's National Denny Plate team suffered disappointment, just failing by one shot for an appearance at the National finals when they lost 77-76 to Ely.

At one stage they were 49-65 ahead, but a crucial loss of a count of six on the Ely green and a count of seven on the home green proved crucial.

Boston players had great success on the Scunthorpe green to book themselves a place in the County EBF National Finals at Newark in April.

Janet Vinter won the ladies singles and also the over 60s singles. The pairs title also was won by Janet with the aid of Pauline Richardson.

Jonathan West won both the under 25 singles and the men’s singles.

The mixed triples was won by Sue Hoyles, Ian Tebbs and Adrian Field.
