Freiston LL 197, Timberland 150 - Freiston won by 47 runs.

Connor Goodfellow made a fine 66 for Freiston as they further cemented their second place in the league with a hard fought victory at Timberlands.

Having lost the toss, Freiston lost early wickets, being reduced to 35-3 when Waseem Ilyas (29) was controversially run out.

Goodfellow was joined by skipper Richard Paul and the pair batted with determination.

Goodfellow counter attacked with his usual attacking array of strokes, whilst Paul was more watchful.

Goodfellow brought up his 50 and went on to make 66, which included 12 boundaries.

The 87-run partnership was broken when Goodfellow picked out mid wicket with a full bloodied shot.

Paul went for 38, as Freiston moved into a strong position.

A final flourish was provided by Taimur Mian and Tommy Atkinson who added an enjoyable 37 for the ninth wicket.

Atkinson made 11 whilst Mian made an unbeaten 28 to take Freiston to 197.

Freiston started well with the ball, and found movement off the pitch.

Ollie Booth claimed the first wicket as Behan was snaffled by Paul at short leg.

Orrey and Louth added 48 for the second wicket.

Mian had Louth caught behind by Stewart Kirtley for 24.

However, Timberland showed good application with the bat and continued to score at the required rate.

Freiston did take wickets at crucial times however.

Tommy Atkinson had the dangerous Wright caught by Ilyas for 18 and Zeeshan Hassan claimed two wickets in his impressive spell.

Blankney made 15 and Dawson 16 for Timberland for whom Orrey anchored the innings with a well made 48.

Two wickets for Paul Chester put Freiston in the driving seat.

Then Booth returned to claim a further two wickets, including Dawson, who was superbly snaffled by John Goodfellow.
