Kenwick Park Golf Club results

THE Kenwick Park Golf Club ladies played a stableford competition for the beautiful crystal Swan trophy presented by Di Everitt.

Carol James (23) was over the moon to win with a great score of 42 points. Jo Cudmore (23) scored 40 to take the runners-up spot on a countback from Maria Brown (26).

On championship day those ladies not playing 36 holes took part in a stableford and despite the rainy conditions, two ladies recorded good scores to win their respective divisions; Lyn Munro (17) won the silver with 37 and Sue Burkitt (24) the bronze with 38.

In the July men’s medal, senior player and former,club champion Paddy Shillington (7) shot a superb 73 - 7 = 66 to win division one.

Mark Ringland (5) came second with a net 68 ahead of Simon Lidgard (7) with 69. Paddy and Mark shared the best gross round of the day.

Dermot Dreelan won division two with a great score of 84 - 19 = 65.

Carl Toon (16) was second on a countback from Ni gel Fearn (15) both scoring net 67s.

The Lady County Captain Julia Sales held her Captain’s Day at Kenwick Park and 132 ladies took part in the fourball better ball stableford competition for the Edna Whitehouse and Chris Means salvers.

Early birds Birdie Dawson and Jenny Baxter of Kenwick Park teed off at first at 8.30am and immediately took the lead and held it all day with a great score of 41 points to win the competition.

Forty points proved to be a popular score with a countback being needed to decide the next four places with Linda West and Jo Partridge of Louth Golf Club claiming second prize, Kenwick’s Patsy Clark and Lyn Munro taking third ahead of Jean Sizer and Ann Walker in fourth place from home players Jenny Rickett and Pam Westthorp in fifth place.

Jenny Brundle and Sue Lambert of Market Rasen were sixth with 39 ahead of Rita Broughton and Roz Smith of Lincoln who claimed the seventh and final prize with 38.
