Kenwick Park golfer Ashton Turner named in England's European Nations squad
No sooner had the 19-year-old returned from a month-long Australian tour to the bleak English winter than he was planning another escape, this time to the Spanish sunshine.
Turner will form part of a strong four-man England senior squad chosen to defend the European Nations Championship at La Reserva Golf Club in Sotogrande.

The event runs from February 24 to 27 and will be contested over 72 holes of strokeplay, with the best three cards counting each day to the team’s total.
An individual competition will also run simultaneously.
England won the men’s championship last year for the sixth time, when the team held off Spain to secure a one-stroke victory. All four members of that team have since turned professional.
Turner was named in the England elite squad for 2016 late last year and has recently returned from a successful tour of Australia.
There he enjoyed top 20 finishes in the Master of the Amateurs and the Lake Macquarie Amateur, reached the second round of the Australian Amateur and also made the matchplay in the New South Wales Amateur.

The Alford golfer made his England debut aged 15 with the under 16s and has worked his way through the national age group squads.
He made his senior elite bow last year at the England versus Spain international and went on to feature in the home nations tournament.
