Leadenham Hockey Club First XI boost survival hopes

With both teams hovering just above the relegation zone, Leadenham served up a crucial win against fellow strugglers Spalding.
The visitors started strongly and won a penalty corner within the first 10 minutes which was converted by David Nelstrop as Leadenham forged an early lead.

In the following 20 minutes Leadenham pressed high, causing problems for Spalding and allowing Jack Ashton to score two further goals as the away side went in 3-0 up at half-time.
The second half saw Spalding fight back with some impressive play, but they only managed to score one goal and the three points went to the away team. A solid defensive display from Ben Lane earned him the man-of-the-match accolade.

Mid UK Recycling and Mountain Skip Hire are run by the Mountain family and have sites at Caythorpe and Ancaster.
