Endurance riders from across the country will be heading to Lincolnshire this summer as Well Vale Endurance Ride has been awarded Area Championship Qualifier status for 2026.

The event, hosted by Endurance GB’s Lindum Group and sponsored by Emerald Green Feeds, will take place from 26–28th June 2026 at the beautiful Well Vale Estate near Alford.

Set in stunning Lincolnshire parkland, the ride offers competitors the chance to explore miles of scenic countryside across private woodland, farm tracks and rolling parkland, with minimal roadwork. The venue provides extensive parking, camping and corralling facilities, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for both riders and spectators.

Being selected as an Area Qualifier means Well Vale will host one of the official qualification rounds for the Endurance GB National Championships, where riders compete for places at the Championships later in the season.

To reach the finals, horse-and-rider combinations must place in the top three at one of these qualifiers before progressing to the National Championships at Thetford in August 2026.

While the championship classes attract experienced competitors riding longer distances, the event is also designed to welcome newcomers who simply want to try something different with their horse.

Endurance riding is a long-distance equestrian sport where horse and rider travel across marked countryside routes, with veterinary checks throughout the day to ensure the horse remains healthy, comfortable and fit to continue. Horse welfare sits firmly at the heart of the sport.

Rides vary from shorter introductory distances right through to international competitions, making it one of the most accessible equestrian disciplines.

At Well Vale, beginners can take part in a 16km (10-mile) pleasure ride, offering the perfect opportunity to experience the sport in a relaxed, supportive environment.

The event promises a friendly atmosphere with facilities including on-site camping, horse corralling, catering and toilets, making it ideal for riders travelling from further afield or those wishing to enjoy a full weekend with their horses.

Organisers hope the event will not only showcase top endurance talent but also introduce more local riders to the sport.
